How the App Works

Girl Dinner Mode does not require you to sign in or create an account. On first launch, the app creates an anonymous ID on your device. This ID is used to sync your data securely so the app works as intended — including across sessions on the same device.

What We Collect

The following data is associated with your anonymous ID and stored securely on our servers:

  • Saved meals, badges, and save history
  • Cooked meal history and cook mode completions
  • Weekly meal plan
  • Disliked meals (premium feature — meals you've chosen to hide)
  • Inferred preferences based on your behavior — preferred cuisines, moods, modes, and flavor profiles — used to personalize suggestions and prefill filters
  • Usage events including: meal generations, saves, tarot draws, era selections, pack views, cook mode starts and completions, weekly plan actions, grocery list exports, delivery partner taps, personalization preference changes, and push notification interactions
  • Push notification token and enabled state (if you grant permission)

Your preferences, filter choices, and personalization settings are also stored locally on your device.

Optional Account

You can create an optional account using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to sync your data across devices. If you choose to do this, we may receive your Apple ID or Google ID and, if you share it, your email address. No other personal information is collected or required.

Email List

You can choose to receive occasional product updates by signing up on girldinnermode.com or girlworldproducts.com, or by opting in via the Settings screen in the app. When you opt in, we store your email address along with the date and version of the consent language you agreed to.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send, or by toggling off "Updates and News" in the app's Settings screen. We don't share or sell email addresses. Withdrawing consent doesn't delete the record — we keep it as a legal audit trail, but you won't receive further emails.

Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial. The app stores the date your trial begins on your device to determine trial and free-tier access.

How Purchases Work

If you choose to subscribe to Premium, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or Google through Google Play, depending on your device. The developer does not receive your payment card information. Subscription status is used to unlock premium features.

Subscription Management

Subscriptions are managed through your App Store or Google Play account. You can cancel at any time through your device's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Personalization

The app learns what works for you over time to make meal suggestions better. This personalization is based on your saves, cook history, and filter choices — it surfaces as a quiet voice in the app, not as labels or recommendation scores.

You can turn personalization off at any time in Settings. You can also reset your taste profile — this clears inferred preferences and filter history without deleting your saves or cook history. Or you can delete all your data entirely.

Your Data

We don't sell your data — and if that ever changes, you'll know before it does. You have three options in Settings:

  • Reset My Taste Profile — clears inferred preferences. Saves, cook history, and weekly plan stay intact.
  • Export My Data — download a copy of your saves, cook history, and preferences.
  • Delete My Data — removes everything from our servers and your device permanently. Cannot be undone.

You can also request deletion via the Delete Account page.

Push Notifications

If you grant permission, the app may send occasional dinner reminders — never daily, always contextual. You can disable these at any time in Settings or in your device's notification settings. Your push token is stored on our servers only while notifications are enabled and is removed when you disable them.

Updates

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the app. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
